To start, a few words about the brand:
It is a collaboration between artists, designers and Montreal entrepreneurs.
The brand was born in 2020 and we have since been working on mini-collections made locally, which allows us to bring a touch of originality in the field of fashion with the participation of local actors.
What drives us?
The intention is to develop a clothing brand with an original look.
For this first mini-collection we were inspired by the WAX fabric. It is a plain woven fabric, 100% cotton with a warm print, very popular in some African countries. The one we present to you reminds us, among other things, of the dress code of the first peoples and we have added a few touches of modernity.
And here we are… our first collection ‹‹Numidae›› which means: Nomad.
Active since when?
The flame was lit in 2020. However, as with anything of good quality, it took some time to bring the idea to fruition. The first pieces were marketed for the first time in 2022.
Amnvi what does it mean?
It is the french abbreviation of ‹‹Bring to Life››.
It is our way of giving visible and tangible form to the ideas that cross our minds.
How do you work?
A bit like all people in this business...
The process begins with an exchange of ideas, to share and combine our inspiration. Then, we look for fabrics that could be suitable for the realization of the project. We make patterns, then we go through a series of fittings to make sure it suits us. After that, it's time for production which is done in Quebec in limited quantities to avoid wastage.
Is everything local?
We work with local craftsmen who are paid properly.
For this collection, the fabrics come from outside the Canada (Nigeria), but the confection is done in Montreal or around the island.
And for deliveries?
It's FREE and we've done our best to provide you with eco-friendly packaging.
The polybag used to protect the clothes is made of recycled plastic and is also recyclable.
What we really like, however, is providing you with a 100% compostable cornstarch mesh that can end up in your garden, just like your vegetable peelings…
